Why in the world did you plant a church in Houston?

That’s a question I get asked a lot. And for good reason. I’m not from here and Elaine is not from here. So why in the world would we take such a big step of faith, pack up everything we own, move our family, and start a church in Houston? While it may have been easier to stay where we know people, where we grew up or where we’ve been serving in full-time ministry the past 7 years, we have been sent out full of faith in obedience to the call God has placed on our lives.

We’ve discovered that Houston is a beautiful city filled with amazing people, beautiful scenery, rich history, art, diversity, and culture. I also know there are people who are lost, lonely, hopeless, hurting, empty, and lacking purpose.

My heart breaks for these people. I believe with all my heart that the local church is the hope of the world. I believe that the presence of a life-giving local church can bring purpose, hope, wholeness, and restoration. I am filled with confident expectation that God can use a group of people to see it be in Houston as it is in heaven.

I am filled with confident expectation that God can use a group of people to see it be in Houston as it is in heaven.

While I know there will be uncertainty and much sacrifice, our part has been to simply hear God, believe, and obey. At the end of the day, we know that God has called us to Houston. He has given us a supernatural love for the city. Our vision is that every person goes on a journey where they Know God, Belong to Family, Discover their Purpose, and Build the Kingdom.

Thank you all for your encouragement, for your continued support, and for believing in the dream that’s in our hearts. Let’s change the world!

Love and appreciate YOU!
